We Need Change in County Government

The citizens of Yavapai County deserve elected officials who listen to them.

Our public servants should make the most of our people’s considerable talents and experience to plan a future that enhances the quality of life we all want to preserve. Intelligent planning with citizen involvement is the key.

Experts keep telling us our water supply is in danger. They say that current plans to increase pumping from the Big Chino for new subdivisions and provide water for existing homes in the Prescott AMA will seriously damage the flow of the Verde River. (more on water issues here)

We need to change our approach to water issues.

We have no comprehensive plan for Economic Development in Yavapai County. We need to shift our focus from retail stores and rooftops to clean, high-income, knowledge-based industry, creating better jobs and a more sustainable economy. Only with a broader sustainable tax base can we provide the infrastructure we need. (more on economic issues here)

We need to grow smarter and better.

Current studies by the Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization say that we will have a failing road system by 2030 even with all the new roads we plan to build! Failing roads will lead to gridlock. Regional planning for airports, freight and citizen mobility must be included in a meaningful way. (more on transportation issues here)

We need a better plan for transportation.

We don’t just need to grow. We need to grow better. We don’t just need to do enough to get by. We need to do the best we can do. As Supervisor for District 1, I will work hard to create the future we all know is possible.

I need volunteers all across Yavapai County to help me create real change.  Click here or on the Get Involved button on the left to volunteer.

I need contributions to run a successful campaign and bring a change to Yavapai County.  Any amount will help. Click here or on the Donations button on the left to help.

I will work with you for a change in County Government!

In Georgene's second debate with her District one opponent on May 12th, she outlined her plan for Yavapai County's future that insecond_debate_1-web.jpgcludes citizen involvement, planning with vision, regional cooperation, eliminating waste in County government and implementing cost-saving policies.  The debate, sponsored by the Republican Men's Forum and held at St. Michael's Hotel, attracted an audience of about 60.

Georgene's first debate on April 22nd at the Elks Lodge in Prescott Valley was sponsored by the Highway 69 Republicans.
